I feel kind of sad writing this but, after 25 years of the longest running comic book series, Archie comics and Sega have parted ways. And the Sonic comic book series published by Archie is cancelled. A bittersweet ending to a great run of a comic series loaded with great storytelling. We all should've seen this coming I believe, since there was a big lack of communication between the two companies; and Archie coming up with a new series that replaced Sonic. But, it seems as if there is a light at the end of the tunnel. As Sega basically claims to be looking for another publisher to continue Sonic The Hedgehog comics. Which is a good thing, since the comic series were a huge seller, and probably Archie's biggest asset. I have followed the Sonic comics since before I was a teenager, and felt like part of my childhood was dying. But I'm going to remain optimistic and hope for the best, whatever Sega has planned for Sonic comic books, I'm definitely looking forward to it.
